Watercolor and Ink on Arches

Vows was created after my husband and I eloped one Tuesday morning in San Francisco. The large, almost overwhelming, figure represents the justice that married us. The figure is extremely large to symbolize the major life choice that we were making, it might have seemed a bit overwhelming, bit it was also very wonderful. The large figure is painted in shades of green to commemorate the justice’s bright green hair. Yes, the woman who married us had green hair.

This painting spent a year in the Oklahoma State University president’s house. (2014-2015)
