Stress and Pressure

Watercolor and Ink on Arches

2013

Backstory

Stress and Pressure is one of my favorite pieces in the series, the patterns and colors work so well together. The two large figures are meant to symbolize the different stresses and pressures that tend to hover over a person. It could also be inferred that the two figures symbolize parents hovering over their child, causing both stress and pressure.

This painting spent a year hanging in the Oklahoma State University president’s house (2014-2015).
